Creative Director Crafting Work That Makes Headlines

Serial entrepreneur, restless dreamer, and award-winning leader in marketing and advertising. I've held a lot of really senior posts in the ad world—all the way up to CCO, SVP, and ECD—but my favorite title of all was my first: "Writer." I don't write as many ads as I once did, or as I'd like, because, you know, the senior-post thing. But I love what I do.

I am one of the most recognized and awarded creatives in the advertising industry. My work has been featured on the Today Show and has been praised by President Barack Obama for its innovation and significance. Memorable campaigns include “No One Deserves to Die” and “What’s Your Maine Thing”—both winning an Effie, One Show Gold, and countless others. But for me, it’s never just about making ads—I put everything through the lens of creating work that makes headlines, not just fills media space.

Before helping Laughlin Constable win AdAge’s Small Agency of the Year, I was a partner at BVK and CCO of RCW. Outside of advertising, I advise numerous nonprofits. Before advertising, I worked in film and television—selling a screenplay to DreamWorks and a book to Random House, where it’s now in excellent hands. I have one child, one wife, three dogs, and one helluva perspective on living a great life.

My work has been recognized with accolades from The One Show, D&AD, the Clios, the Art Directors Club, Cannes, Obies, Best Ads on TV, Communication Arts, and multiple Gold Effies for effectiveness.
